Syllabus
The Welding Inspector training is a program designed to provide knowledge and skills to individuals responsible for inspecting and testing weld joints in various industrial applications. This training is crucial to ensure that the welding process meets applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards, as well as to prevent structural failures that could have fatal consequences.
After participating in this Welding Inspector training, participants are expected to:
- Understand the Welding Process: Explain various welding methods and techniques used in the industry.
- Compliance with Standards: Identify and understand international and national standards governing welding (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO).
- Conduct Inspections: Be able to perform visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) of weld joints to assess quality and integrity.
- Prepare Inspection Reports: Compile clear and comprehensive inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, and necessary corrective actions.
- Address Issues: Identify and analyze problems that may arise during the welding process and provide appropriate solutions.
- Requirements and responsibilities for Welding Inspectors as well as the welding reporting system.
- Welding Specification Procedures (Welding Technology, welding defects, processes, construction, filler metals).
- Welding Design Procedures (Isometry, matrix practices, WPS & PQR).
- Risk-Based Inspection & Corrosion.
- Welding qualifications according to API 1104.
- Storage Tanks API 650 & Piping (ANSI/ASME) Series B31.
- ASME Section VIII/IX, AWS D1.1 & Offshore Structures.
- Welding Symbols, Welding Metallurgy.
- Occupational Safety (General K3 & Oil and Gas K3) & Oil and Gas LSP.
- Testing of Weld Results with Destructive Testing or Non-Destructive Testing (DT/NDT), Welding & Piping.
- SKKNI (Welding Professional Standards), Quality Control Inspection.
- BKI Regulations (Materials, Welding, Ship Construction).
- Engineers and technicians involved in the welding process.
- Quality managers and supervisors who want to improve their skills in welding inspection.
- Professionals working in the construction, manufacturing, and shipping industries.
- High School (SMA/SMK/STM) with 5 years of work experience in construction and welding, or
- Polytechnic-D3, or
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification from a higher education institution, especially in the field of engineering or physical sciences, or
- Relevant qualifications from marine or nautical institutions and experienced in sailing (ANT/ATT II diploma)
- Submit a Curriculum Vitae, 3 copies of a 3x4 photo with red and blue backgrounds, respectively
- Submit a copy of the latest education diploma
- Participate in a Pre-Test with subjects in Basic Welding, Physical Science, and English on H-8 or H-1 from the training schedule at Graha BKI, 9th floor.
